Independence Township, NJ (June 23, 2026) – One person died, and another was hospitalized following a motorcycle collision on Rte 517 in Warren County on Sunday evening.
According to police, the two motorcycles were traveling northbound on Rte 517 when they came into contact shortly after 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 21. A preliminary investigation found that both motorcycles lost control after the collision.
One rider was pronounced dead at the scene. The other motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital with serious but stable injuries.
The identities of those involved have not yet been released. Rte 517 remained closed until approximately 9:30 p.m. while crews worked in the roadway.
Police are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the wreck. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the loved ones of the person who lost their life.
