Lufkin, TX (July 15, 2026) – A man was hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle on Monday night, July 14, while attempting to cross South Timberland Drive in Lufkin.
According to the Lufkin Police Department, the collision occurred in the 1700 block of South Timberland Drive near a motel and a car dealership. Emergency units assisted the injured pedestrian before he was taken to a hospital. His current condition has not been released.
During the investigation, the police closed both southbound lanes and one northbound lane in the 1700 block of South First Street, between Janeway and Smitty’s Car Wash. The affected lanes have since reopened. Officials have not said whether the driver remained at the scene. Investigators continue working to determine the circumstances surrounding the pedestrian collision.
