Cedar Rapids, IA (June 02, 2026) – A passenger was taken to a hospital with minor injuries after a truck pulling a trailer rolled over on southbound I-380 in Linn County Monday evening, June 1. The crash happened around 7:40 p.m. between Center Point and Toddville.
A tire blowout caused the driver to lose control, sending the truck onto its side. The driver was not hurt, only the passenger required hospital care.
The rollover blocked the lone open lane on that stretch of I-380, which was already reduced to a single lane due to construction. Traffic came to a standstill behind the wreck before the road reopened shortly before 8:30 p.m.
Emergency units from multiple agencies were present at the scene.
No names were included in the initial report on the accident. The cause has been confirmed as a tire failure, though a full review of the collision is still underway. We hope the passenger who was hurt has a smooth recovery.
