What Information Is Examined After a Rollover Crash?
Rollover crashes involve a detailed review of vehicle movement before and after contact occurs. Investigators typically examine speed, lane position, steering inputs, and the sequence of events that led to a vehicle overturning. Physical evidence on the roadway can provide valuable clues about how the crash developed.
Vehicle type and load conditions may also be considered. Pickup trucks and vehicles towing trailers can behave differently than standard passenger cars, especially during sudden maneuvers or unexpected contact with another vehicle. Investigators may review vehicle damage, tire marks, and the final positions of the vehicles involved.
Safety equipment is another area frequently reviewed after a rollover. Seat belt use, airbag deployment, and occupant positioning can help explain injury outcomes. By analyzing these factors, investigators can build a clearer understanding of the circumstances that contributed to the crash.
