Palm Springs, FL (May 14, 2026) – A 17-year-old boy was seriously injured after a hit-and-run crash in Palm Springs on Wednesday, May 13. The crash happened around 8:49 p.m. in the 3900 block of South Military Trail, near Lake Worth Road and John Prince Park.

Officials said the teen was riding an electric motorcycle when he was struck by a northbound SUV traveling in the outside lanes of South Military Trail. The teen was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The SUV left the scene before law enforcement arrived. Officials described the vehicle as a beige or gray SUV, possibly a GMC or Chevrolet.

The SUV may have front-end damage, including a missing front bumper and a missing fog light on one side. It was last seen traveling west on Cambridge Street.

The crash remains under investigation. Additional details may become available as authorities continue their review.

We are thinking of the injured teen and hope for a full recovery.

Safety Concerns After Electric Motorcycle Crashes

Electric motorcycle riders can face serious injuries in crashes because they have less protection than people inside larger vehicles. A rider might be thrown from the bike or suffer injuries from direct impact with the roadway.

Busy roads can add risk during evening travel. Headlights, turning vehicles, traffic volume, and reduced visibility may make it harder for drivers and riders to see each other in time.

Hit-and-run crashes can also delay the flow of information after a collision. Vehicle damage, debris, traffic camera footage, and witness accounts could help clarify how the crash happened and which vehicle was involved.

1Seek treatment promptly after being injured in an accident. Your first priority should always be your health. Many providers offer treatment on a lien basis, meaning you can get the care you need now and pay later when your claim is resolved.
2Before speaking with an insurance company, make sure you have the facts. An official police report is the most reliable record of what happened and can help establish liability An experienced attorney can assist you in obtaining this report and using it to protect your interests.
3Consider having your case reviewed by a qualified attorney who can guide you through the next steps. They will safeguard your rights and pursue the compensation you deserve.

Focus on your recovery and
let trusted professionals handle the rest
