Paradise Township, PA (March 25, 2026) – A high-speed chase ended in a fiery crash at the intersection of Lincoln Hwy E and S Vintage Rd in Lancaster County, leaving four people injured.
The incident began around 6:55 p.m. on Sunday, March 22, when a trooper spotted two silver Infiniti sedans speeding over 100 mph on Strasburg Rd. Emergency units attempted a stop, but both vehicles accelerated away, continuing east for more than two miles at speeds exceeding 120 mph.
One of the sedans turned onto S Vintage Rd, briefly losing control before continuing at high speed. During the pursuit, the driver passed multiple vehicles, including a horse and buggy and a bicyclist.
Authorities said the fleeing sedan failed to stop at the intersection with Lincoln Hwy E and crashed into a tractor-trailer, causing it to overturn. The truck then struck a Lincoln sedan. All three vehicles caught fire following the collision.
The driver of the fleeing car was identified as 20-year-old Jesus Juarez-Juarez of Atglen. He was taken into custody following the crash. The driver of the Lincoln sedan had to be removed from the vehicle by emergency crews, while others involved were able to exit on their own.
Four people, including the tractor-trailer driver and passengers from both vehicles, were taken to Lancaster General Hospital for treatment. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash, and more details will be released as soon as they become available.
We are thinking of those injured as they receive medical care.
What Happens During High-Speed Police Pursuits and Resulting Crashes?
High-speed pursuits often involve rapidly changing conditions, making them difficult to control. Drivers may ignore traffic signals, exceed safe speeds, and take sudden turns, increasing the risk of a crash. Other road users, including cyclists and slower vehicles, can be placed in immediate danger.
When a collision occurs during a pursuit, multiple vehicles are often affected due to the force involved. Large vehicles like tractor-trailers can overturn, while smaller cars may sustain heavy damage or catch fire. Fires can start quickly when fuel systems are damaged on impact.
Injury outcomes vary depending on speed, point of impact, and whether safety features like seat belts and airbags are in use. Emergency crews typically respond quickly to manage injuries, secure the area, and prevent further hazards on the roadway.
