Bakersfield, CA (July 22, 2026) – A pedestrian was hurt in a hit-and-run on Mount Vernon Avenue near the Mount Vernon Bridge and Edison Highway in Bakersfield at about 5:30 p.m. on Monday, July 20.
Initial dispatch information indicated a vehicle struck a pedestrian in the northbound lanes of Mount Vernon Avenue before leaving the area.
Emergency units went to the roadway to assess the situation and assist those involved. At this stage, no information has been released about the person’s identity, the extent of the injuries, or a description of the vehicle believed to have left the roadway.
