Sacramento, CA (August 18, 2026) – A pedestrian was killed after three people were struck by a passing vehicle on eastbound US-50 near 34th St on August 16.
The incident was reported at about 11:36 p.m. near the 34th St exit. The initial report indicated that three pedestrians were involved after a group had pulled to the right side of the highway because of a flat tire.
Emergency units were called to the area, where multiple vehicles were found on the right side of the highway and at least one person was on the ground. A gray Jeep Grand Cherokee was identified as the reporting party’s vehicle.
The vehicle believed to have struck the pedestrians was not identified in the initial report. A person at the site believed the other vehicle may have continued farther ahead but did not have a clear view of it.
Additional details about the people involved were not immediately available. The investigation into the fatal wreck remains underway as authorities work to determine what happened.
