San Mateo County, CA (June 16, 2026) – A San Francisco police motorcycle officer was injured Monday morning following a collision with a big rig near San Francisco International Airport.
According to the San Francisco Police Officers Association, the crash occurred on a roadway near SFO when a big rig truck allegedly pulled in front of the motorcycle officer, leading to the collision.
Officials said the officer suffered a sprained ankle and was transported to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment. The officer was later released from the hospital.
The driver of the big rig was cited at the scene, according to union representatives. Additional details regarding the circumstances of the collision were not immediately released.
San Francisco Police Officers Association President Louis Wong stated that while the officer’s injuries were not serious, the incident serves as a reminder of the risks law enforcement officers face while performing their duties on area roadways.
