Why Crashes Involving Semi-Trucks Can Be Severe
Collisions involving semi-trucks often lead to serious outcomes due to the size and weight difference between large trucks and passenger vehicles. A fully loaded truck can weigh many times more than a standard car.
Because of this weight, trucks require more distance to slow down or stop. When a collision occurs, the impact force can cause significant damage to smaller vehicles involved.
Large trucks may also have wider turning radii and larger blind spots than regular cars. These factors can affect how vehicles interact on busy roadways or at intersections.
Road conditions, nighttime visibility, and traffic flow can also influence how crashes involving trucks develop. Each of these factors is often examined when a serious accident occurs.
