Why Dog Bite Injuries Can Require Hospital Care
Dog bites can cause deep wounds, especially when the face, head, or hands are involved. Older adults and children may face a higher risk of serious harm because their skin and bodies can be more vulnerable during an attack.
Medical care might include cleaning the wound, checking for infection risk, and treating damage near the eyes or face. Even when injuries are described as not life-threatening, hospital care can help prevent complications.
Dog bite cases may also involve quarantine steps for the animal. These steps can help confirm the dog’s health status and reduce the chance of another person being hurt while the case is reviewed.
