San Antonio, TX (January 8, 2026) – A tragic accident claimed the life of a teen pedestrian in the early hours of Thursday on the West Side of San Antonio. The incident occurred just after midnight in the 7600 block of US 90 W near Gunsmoke Dr.

According to reports from the San Antonio Police Department, a 19-year-old male was attempting to cross the westbound lanes of the highway when he was struck by an oncoming vehicle. The driver reportedly swerved in an attempt to avoid the pedestrian but was unable to prevent the collision. Emergency crews responded to the scene and found the teen suffering from fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead on-site.

Authorities confirmed that the driver remained at the scene and fully cooperated with the ongoing investigation.
