Santa Ana, CA (January 19, 2026) – A multi-vehicle collision occurred early Monday morning on southbound Interstate 5 at the transition to SR-55 in Santa Ana, resulting in reported injuries and significant lane disruption, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident was reported around 5:00 a.m. and involved at least three vehicles, including a white Mercedes sedan. All vehicles were moved to the right shoulder following the crash.
Responding CHP units worked to block traffic and manage the scene in the reversible express lane area while coordinating with Station 91. The incident was initially categorized as property damage only but was later upgraded, with emergency medical services (1141 Enrt) dispatched to assess injuries.
