What Are the Main Roads in Scioto Township, OH?
Scioto Township is located in the heart of Ross County, Ohio, with the city of Chillicothe sitting at its center. Because of this, the township has several key roads that connect residents to surrounding communities and regional destinations.
U.S. Route 50 is one of the most traveled roads in the area. In Chillicothe, US 50 briefly becomes a divided highway and shares concurrencies with US 23 to the south, US 35 to the east, and SR 104 to the north, making it a key connector through the Scioto River Valley. That convergence of federal and state routes makes Scioto Township one of the more connected areas in southern Ohio.
U.S. Route 23 runs north and south through Ross County, passing through Chillicothe and linking the township to Columbus to the north and Portsmouth to the south. Chillicothe sits roughly 44 miles north of Portsmouth along US-23 and approximately 80 miles southeast of Dayton along US-35.
Veterans Parkway is a locally significant road that intersects with U.S. 50 within Scioto Township. ODOT has proposed a roundabout at that intersection to improve traffic flow and safety at what the agency describes as a busy junction.
State Route 104 is a north-south highway that runs through the Chillicothe area, connecting the region toward Columbus to the north.
Together, these roads form the backbone of Scioto Township’s road network and keep the area well-connected to the rest of the state.
