Mounds, IL (June 24, 2026) – A semi-truck driver was injured after an overturn crash early on Tuesday morning on Interstate 57 in Pulaski County.
According to Illinois State Police Troop 10, troopers responded at approximately 3:32 a.m. on June 23 to the southbound lanes of Interstate 57 near Milepost 6 in the Mounds area. Authorities reported that a truck tractor semi-trailer overturned, blocking all southbound lanes of the interstate.
The driver sustained injuries in the crash and was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. Additional information regarding the extent of the injuries has not been released.
As emergency crews worked to clear the scene, southbound traffic was diverted at Milepost 8. Illinois State Police reported that all southbound lanes reopened at approximately 8:05 a.m; they continue to review the circumstances surrounding the crash.
