Skagit County, WA (April 16, 2026) – A fatal motorcycle crash led to the temporary closure of Highway 9 Thursday afternoon in Skagit County.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision occurred near Mount Vernon, prompting emergency crews to respond to the scene.
Authorities closed Highway 9 between Sulfer Springs Rd and Lake Cavanaugh Rd, with drivers being detoured to West Big Lake Rd while crews worked the scene.
Emergency responders, including state troopers and transportation officials, remained on site until the roadway was cleared and reopened later in the day.
