Spencer Co., IN (March 26, 2026) – Two people lost their lives in a head-on crash on Tuesday, March 24, on State Road 66 in Spencer County. The collision occurred shortly before 6 p.m. east of County Road 400 West.
Officials said a pickup truck traveling west crossed the center line and struck an oncoming car. The driver of the car, 54-year-old Larry R. Lindsey of Rockport, and a rear-seat passenger, 64-year-old Barry Morris of Whitesville, Kentucky, were pronounced dead at the scene.
A second passenger in the car, from Owensboro, was taken to a hospital in Indianapolis for treatment. The pickup driver, identified as 29-year-old Lindsey Baxter of Evansville, was treated at a hospital and later released.
Authorities said the driver of the pickup was arrested the following day. The roadway was closed for about two and a half hours as crews responded and cleared the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
