Why Rollover Crashes Often Require Rescue Operations
Rollover crashes can trap occupants inside vehicles due to severe damage to doors, frames, or roofs. When a vehicle overturns, structural parts may bend or collapse, preventing people from exiting safely on their own.
Emergency responders often use specialized tools to remove doors, cut metal, or stabilize the vehicle before freeing anyone trapped inside. These procedures help protect injured occupants from further harm during rescue.
Rollovers can happen when vehicles strike curbs, collide with other vehicles, or lose control while turning or traveling at higher speeds. Taller vehicles, SUVs, and trucks may have a greater risk of rolling if they tip during an impact.
Proper seat belt use and vehicle safety features help reduce injury risk during rollovers, but the forces involved can still cause serious harm.
