St. Louis, MO (March 23, 2026) – A man lost his life on Saturday night, March 21, after a crash involving a stopped vehicle along North Outer Road and Interstate 44. The incident happened shortly after 9 p.m. as traffic moved westbound in the area.
Authorities reported that a 2022 Dodge Ram 2500 was stopped at the gore point where North Outer Road meets I-44. The driver had stepped out and was working on the truck and an attached tow unit at the time.
As this was happening, a 2018 Chevrolet Impala traveling west struck the towed unit connected to the Dodge. The impact caused the Chevrolet to leave the roadway, hit a nearby fence, and come to rest in a grassy divider.
The driver of the Chevrolet, a 73-year-old man from Fenton, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Dodge driver was not hurt in the crash.
The police continue to investigate the cause of the crash, and more details will be released as soon as they become available.
