Stockton, CA (January 13, 2026) – A single-vehicle crash on Navy Dr near Fresno Ave claimed the life of 33-year-old Andre Dieon Carter and left five others injured on January 11, according to Stockton Police and the San Joaquin County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The crash occurred around 9 p.m. when Carter, who was behind the wheel, was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene. His five passengers included a 14-year-old boy, an 18-year-old man, a 20-year-old man, a 21-year-old woman, and a 26-year-old man. Police reported that three of the passengers were transported to a nearby hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. The other two received treatment for minor injuries at the scene.
The Stockton Police Department’s traffic unit is continuing to investigate the circumstances that led to the crash. While the exact cause has not been determined, authorities have confirmed that the vehicle was the only one involved.
Following the incident, Navy Dr was shut down between Fresno Ave and Tillie Lewis Dr. Although the crash scene was cleared, Stockton Public Works remained on site Monday morning to address a sewage line issue, and the road remains closed for ongoing construction.
Our deepest sympathies go out to the family and friends of Andre Dieon Carter, and we extend our hopes for a full recovery to those injured.
