What Typically Happens After a DUI-Related Motorcycle Crash in California?
When a driver is arrested on suspicion of DUI after a crash, the legal process that follows is separate from the traffic investigation. Law enforcement typically documents signs of impairment at the scene, which may include field sobriety tests or a blood draw. That evidence is later reviewed as part of any criminal case. For the person who was hurt, medical records become a key part of how the full extent of their injuries gets established over time. California treats DUI crashes involving injury seriously, and a formal arrest at the scene often signals that criminal charges are being considered. The final outcome of those charges depends on what investigators and prosecutors determine once all the evidence has been reviewed.
