Symmes Twp, OH (January 23, 2026) – A tragic accident claimed the life of a 23-year-old man on Wednesday afternoon after he was struck by a vehicle while walking along a busy stretch of Fields Ertel Rd near the Hamilton and Warren County line.
According to the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office, the victim, identified as Peyton Kaylor of Maineville, was transported to Bethesda North Hospital by the Loveland-Symmes Fire Department following the collision. He later died from his injuries at 4:47 p.m.
The incident occurred around 1:18 p.m. in the 9000 block of Fields Ertel Rd, prompting a swift response from multiple emergency units, including the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office traffic safety unit. Responders provided medical aid on-site before rushing the victim to the hospital.
Authorities confirmed that the driver involved remained at the scene and has been fully cooperative with the ongoing investigation. At this time, preliminary assessments indicate that neither speed nor impairment appears to be a contributing factor in the crash.
