Penfield, NY (July 15, 2026) – Three people were injured in a three-vehicle collision at Plank Road and Five Mile Line Road on Tuesday, July 14. Emergency units were called to the intersection at approximately 11:27 a.m.
A westbound SUV continued through a red light and struck a southbound SUV, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. The first vehicle then hit an eastbound tow truck that was stopped in traffic.
The westbound SUV driver was hospitalized with a serious lower-leg injury. The other SUV’s driver and passenger were taken to a hospital with minor injuries, while the tow truck operator was not hurt.
Plank Road was temporarily closed between Hatch Road and State Road before reopening. Authorities continue reviewing the sequence and available evidence surrounding the accident.
