Miami Beach, FL (July 14, 2026) – A manhole fire near Collins Avenue and Lincoln Road in South Beach caused an electrical vault fire inside a nearby building on Sunday evening, sending three people to the hospital and forcing several businesses to close temporarily.
The fire began around 7:15 p.m. near 230 Lincoln Road and spread to an underground Florida Power & Light electrical vault inside the building. Nearby stores, including Ross Dress for Less and Five Below, were evacuated as crews worked to contain the flames.
Three people were taken to Mount Sinai Medical Center with minor injuries. The people taken for treatment are expected to be OK, and no further details about those hurt were released. The cause of the blast is still being reviewed as more information becomes available. We wish those affected a full recovery.
