Why Early Morning Pedestrian Crashes Often Occur on Highway Ramps
Pedestrian crashes on highway ramps often happen in low-light conditions when visibility is reduced. Early morning hours can make it harder for drivers to see people in or near travel lanes, especially in areas without strong lighting.
High-speed merge and exit ramps can also create complex traffic patterns, leaving limited reaction time. Even a brief delay in noticing a pedestrian can result in a serious collision.
Improved lighting, clear signage, and staying within designated pedestrian areas can help reduce risks in these high-speed roadway environments.
