Why Motorcycle Riders Face Greater Risks in Collisions
Motorcyclists are more vulnerable to serious injuries because motorcycles provide little physical protection during a crash. Even with helmets and other protective gear, riders are exposed to the force of impact and may be thrown from the motorcycle during a collision.
Crashes involving motorcycles and larger vehicles require investigators to examine roadway conditions, vehicle positions, and witness statements to determine how the incident occurred. They may also review factors such as visibility, speed, and traffic patterns. Medical evaluations can continue after the initial emergency response, as some injuries may require ongoing treatment or monitoring.
