Why Head-on Collisions Are Among the Most Severe Traffic Crashes
Head-on collisions often result in serious injuries because the combined force of two vehicles traveling toward each other creates a high-energy impact. These crashes can occur for a variety of reasons, including lane departures, impaired driving, distraction, fatigue, or medical emergencies, though authorities have not indicated what caused this collision.
Investigators typically examine vehicle damage, tire marks, debris patterns, roadway conditions, witness statements, and any available surveillance footage to reconstruct the crash. The findings help determine how the vehicles came into contact and whether any contributing factors were involved.
