Cardwell, MO (July 11, 2026) – Two Paragould women were seriously injured in a crash involving a passenger car and a Freightliner on Thursday afternoon, July 9, on U.S. Highway 412 near Cardwell. The collision happened around 1 p.m.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 68-year-old woman was driving a 2010 Chevrolet Impala north on Route AC when she pulled into the path of an eastbound 2013 Freightliner. The Impala struck the Freightliner’s towed unit.
The 68-year-old driver was flown to St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro with serious injuries. A 46-year-old woman from Paragould, who was a passenger in the Impala, was airlifted to Regional One Health in Memphis. The Freightliner driver, a 36-year-old man from Schaumburg, Illinois, was not injured. We wish all those injured a speedy recovery.
