Porterville, CA (July 18, 2026) – A two-vehicle traffic accident was reported on Friday, July 17, along southbound State Route 65 at Avenue 184 near Porterville.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch log, the collision was reported at approximately 12:56 p.m. Initial information indicated a silver sedan and a white pickup truck were involved. The silver sedan left the roadway and came to rest in a ditch on the right side, while debris from the collision was scattered across the highway. Dispatch notes stated there was uncertainty about whether water was present in the ditch.
Southbound traffic was temporarily stopped, and a detour was established while crews worked to clear the roadway. One southbound lane was reopened before all lanes were restored to normal traffic at approximately 2:31 p.m. No injuries were confirmed in the initial dispatch, and the identities of those involved were not immediately released.
