Vail, AZ (January 14, 2026) – A serious traffic collision with reported injuries occurred early Wednesday morning at the Colossal Cave Rd overpass along Interstate 10, prompting a response from the Pima County Sheriff’s Department and emergency personnel.
The crash took place around 5:50 a.m., disrupting early morning travel through the Vail area. A deputy from the Pima County Sheriff’s Office was confirmed to be on scene shortly after the incident to assist with traffic control and initiate a preliminary investigation. Emergency crews provided immediate aid to those injured in the crash, though the number of individuals involved has not yet been released.
At least one person was treated for injuries sustained during the collision. Medical responders ensured those hurt received necessary care, and transport to a nearby medical facility was arranged for further treatment.
The overpass area remained active for more than an hour as crews worked to secure the scene and restore normal traffic flow.
