Virginia Beach, VA (January 10, 2026) – A traffic collision involving two vehicles led to injuries and significant congestion on I-264 eastbound near the Lynnhaven exit on January 8, prompting an extended emergency response from local crews.
Responders arrived shortly after 3:00 p.m. to find one vehicle disabled in the number two lane and another resting along the right shoulder, partially blocking the number four lane. Fire units and medics quickly set up a safety perimeter and began treating the injured at the scene. Due to the number of people involved, a second ambulance was requested to assist with patient care. The exact number of individuals injured has not been confirmed, and authorities have not released information on hospital transport.
While first responders worked to manage traffic and tend to the scene, major delays were reported in the eastbound lanes. Drivers were urged to use caution as crews coordinated lane closures to protect emergency operations.
