What Happens After a Multi-Vehicle Crash on a Busy Highway?
Roads like Highway 20 near Creekwood Drive often handle a mix of local and through traffic, which can increase congestion after a crash. When multiple vehicles are involved, clearing the scene may take longer due to the number of damaged vehicles and people needing care.
Overturned vehicles can add another layer of difficulty. Crews must stabilize the vehicle and ensure it does not pose further risk before removal begins. This can slow reopening efforts and require temporary road closures.
Traffic management is also a key part of the response. Detours are often put in place to redirect drivers and reduce congestion near the crash site while crews continue their work.
