Wasatch County, UT (March 15, 2026) – Two men were killed, and another person was hospitalized following a head-on collision on Saturday afternoon on State Route 40 in Wasatch County, according to authorities.
Troopers with the Utah Highway Patrol responded to the crash along State Route 40 in Wasatch County, Utah. According to investigators, a box truck was traveling on the highway when it reportedly drifted to the right. Authorities said the driver overcorrected, causing the vehicle to cross the center divider and enter the opposing lane of traffic.
The box truck then collided head-on with an oncoming truck traveling in the opposite direction. Officials reported that two men who were inside the struck truck, including the driver and a passenger, died at the scene as a result of the crash.
The driver of the box truck sustained injuries and was transported to a local hospital in stable condition. Following the collision, the westbound lanes of State Route 40 were temporarily closed while emergency crews responded and investigators documented the scene.
The crash remains under investigation by the Utah Highway Patrol.
