What Factors Can Lead to Rollover Crashes on Local Roads?
Rollover crashes can occur even on local roadways and are often influenced by speed, sudden steering maneuvers, or collisions with curbs or other obstacles. Vehicles with a higher center of gravity, such as SUVs or trucks, may be more prone to tipping during abrupt movements.
Road conditions, including sharp turns or uneven surfaces, can also contribute to a loss of control. In some cases, impairment or distracted driving may contribute to a vehicle overturning.
Even when injuries are reported as minor, rollover crashes can be dangerous due to the risk of occupants being thrown around inside the vehicle. Wearing seatbelts and driving cautiously can significantly reduce the risk of serious harm in these types of incidents.
