Why Pedestrian Hit-and-Run Cases Can Cause Severe Injuries
Pedestrians can suffer serious injuries when they are hit by a vehicle because they have no protection from the force of impact. Teens and adults might suffer broken bones, head injuries, back injuries, or internal trauma.
A hit-and-run can make the situation more dangerous because the driver leaves before the scene is fully secured. Injured people may need immediate help from nearby witnesses, family members, or emergency crews.
Hospital care is often needed after a pedestrian crash, even when a person is awake and alert. Pain, shock, and swelling can worsen after the first moments. Imaging tests and emergency treatment can help doctors find injuries that are not visible at the scene.
