What Factors Are Commonly Reviewed in Intersection Fatal Crashes
When a fatal crash occurs at an intersection, investigators typically focus on right-of-way, signal timing, and driver actions leading up to the collision. These elements help determine how each vehicle entered the crossing path.
They also examine visibility conditions, roadway design, and impact speed. Physical evidence such as vehicle damage, debris distribution, and skid marks can help reconstruct the sequence of events. In many cases, witness accounts and traffic patterns are also reviewed to better understand how the crash unfolded.
