Gilroy, CA (July 11, 2026) – A woman was killed in a hit-and-run collision on Tuesday night near W 10th St and Monterey Rd in Gilroy, California. The accident happened around 10:30 p.m. after reports of a person lying in the roadway.
The woman was found with major injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle and was pronounced dead at the site. Her identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
A witness said the woman was in her 50s and may have been crossing W 10th St when she was hit. Detectives later located the suspected vehicle, but the driver involved had not been identified. The investigation into the fatal collision remains active as more details are being gathered.
