How Multi-Vehicle Crashes Can Occur at Urban Intersections
Busy city intersections often bring together vehicles traveling in different directions. Drivers may be turning, slowing for traffic signals, or attempting to pass through the intersection simultaneously.
When one vehicle collides with another at an intersection, the impact can push cars into nearby lanes, curbs, or structures. This chain reaction can result in damage to additional vehicles or surrounding buildings.
Nighttime conditions may also affect driver awareness. Reduced lighting and heavier evening traffic can create situations where drivers have less time to react.
Clear traffic signals, visible lane markings, and attentive driving can help reduce the risk of crashes at intersections with constant traffic flow.
