San Diego, CA (January 1, 2026) – Emergency crews responded to a pedestrian-involved collision near UC San Diego after a woman was struck by a vehicle while crossing Campus Point Drive on December 31. The incident occurred outside of a marked intersection and left the pedestrian with multiple injuries, including pain in her back, ribs, and foot.
Medics assessed the woman at the scene and noted visible abrasions to her hands, as well as signs of mid-thoracic back pain. She was fully conscious with stable vital signs and recalled the entire event. Paramedics transported her to UCSD Hospital for further evaluation and treatment. Fire and EMS units confirmed the vehicle was traveling around 30 mph at the time of impact, and the pedestrian did not go under or over the car.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision, including whether visibility or traffic conditions played a role. No further information about the driver has been made public at this time.
