Lake Andrew Twp, MN (January 12, 2026) – A two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 71 and County Road 40 left two people injured in Kandiyohi County. The incident occurred at approximately 12:36 p.m. on January 11 in Lake Andrew Township, just outside New London, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
A 2020 Chevrolet Silverado traveling northbound on Highway 71 collided with a 2017 Subaru Outback that was heading east on County 40. The impact occurred in the middle of the intersection, causing airbag deployment in both vehicles.
The driver of the Silverado, identified as 61-year-old Todd William Sjoberg of Sunburg, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Willmar Hospital for treatment. The 16-year-old female driver of the Subaru was evaluated at the scene but did not require hospital transport. Both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
The Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene. No indications of alcohol involvement were reported, and the crash remains under investigation by authorities.
