Boston, MA (January 14, 2026) – A man riding a scooter was injured Tuesday night after being struck by an MBTA bus in South Boston, authorities confirmed.
The crash occurred shortly before 10:15 p.m. at the intersection of Old Colony Ave and Dorchester St. Emergency personnel responded swiftly to the scene, where footage captured a bus with a severely damaged windshield stopped in the roadway.
According to an MBTA statement issued Wednesday, the bus — which had no passengers at the time — was traveling through a green light when the man on a scooter attempted to cut in front of it to make a left turn. The bus struck the man during the maneuver.
Officials stated that the man sustained non-life-threatening injuries. He was treated at the scene and transported for further evaluation, though no additional updates on his condition have been provided.
