St. Francois, MO (January 29, 2026) – A serious collision at the intersection of Highway 8 and Old Highway 8 on Wednesday afternoon resulted in both drivers sustaining injuries and both vehicles being totaled, according to authorities from Troop C.
The incident occurred around 3:40 p.m. in St. Francois County when a 2025 Toyota Tundra, traveling northbound, reportedly pulled into the path of an eastbound 2011 Chevrolet Malibu. The resulting impact forced both vehicles off the roadway, with the Tundra overturning from the force of the crash. Both vehicles were extensively damaged and later towed from the scene by Buckleys Towing.
Emergency personnel from St. Francois County Ambulance District responded quickly and rendered aid to the injured. The drivers, identified as a 67-year-old man from Park Hills operating the Tundra and a 32-year-old man from Leadwood driving the Malibu, were both wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. They each sustained injuries and were transported to Parkland Health Center in Farmington for evaluation and treatment.
Cpl. R.J. Steele of the Missouri State Highway Patrol is overseeing the investigation, which remains ongoing. The initial report cites failure to yield on the part of the Tundra’s driver as a contributing factor in the accident.
We extend our well wishes to both men and hope they experience a smooth and full recovery.
