Hospital Visits After Truck and Car Collisions
Crashes involving box trucks and passenger cars can cause serious damage because of the size difference between the vehicles. A smaller car may absorb more force during impact, especially if it becomes trapped under part of the truck.
Highway crashes can also create added danger for nearby traffic. Vehicles may leave the roadway, lanes may close, and drivers may need to slow quickly near the scene. Ditches, shoulders, and guardrails can affect how vehicles come to rest after impact.
Medical checks after these crashes can help identify injuries that may not be clear right away and could be dangerous at long term. Neck pain, back pain, bruising, or head symptoms may appear after the initial shock fades.
