How Interchange Crashes Can Become Severe on Highway Transitions
Crashes near highway interchanges often involve complex traffic movements, including merging, lane changes, and ramp entries. These conditions can increase the likelihood of driver misjudgment.
When vehicles cross multiple lanes of traffic, the risk of side-impact collisions rises significantly. Other drivers may have limited time to react, especially at highway speeds.
Interchange areas often combine high-speed traffic with frequent merging, making awareness and timing critical for safe travel. Even small errors in judgment can lead to serious or fatal outcomes in these zones.
