Why Motorcycle Crashes Often Result in Serious Injuries
Motorcycle crashes frequently result in injuries because riders have less physical protection than occupants in enclosed vehicles. Even when helmets and protective gear are used, direct impact with other vehicles or the roadway can cause significant harm.
Intersections and multi-lane roads can increase risk due to turning vehicles, changing traffic flow, and limited visibility. In many cases, drivers may not immediately notice motorcycles because they are smaller on the road.
Emergency response to motorcycle crashes often focuses on rapid assessment and transport, as injuries can vary widely in severity. Investigators typically review roadway layout, vehicle movement, and impact points to determine how the collision occurred.
