What Factors Make Head-On Collisions in New Hampshire So Dangerous?
Head-on crashes are among the most severe types of collisions on the road, and New Hampshire’s mix of rural two-lane roads and older infrastructure can increase that risk. When two vehicles strike each other from the front, the combined force of both impacts is concentrated into a single moment, which often leads to serious injuries even at moderate speeds. Older drivers can be especially vulnerable due to physical factors that make recovery more difficult.
Extraction from a vehicle after a head-on crash can take significant time, which adds urgency to the response. Rescue teams are trained to stabilize the vehicle and protect the occupant while working quickly. The condition of a vehicle after this type of crash often determines how complex the extraction process will be.
