Plattekill, NY (July 22, 2026) – Eleven people were injured after a bus rollover accident on the New York State Thruway in Plattekill on Tuesday morning, July 21. The crash happened around 7:30 a.m. in the southbound lanes of the highway.
According to officials, 23 passengers were on board a Wanda Coach bus when it overturned. Six people suffered moderate injuries, and 11 passengers were taken to local hospitals for treatment. Photos from the scene showed the bus resting on its side. Several bystanders, including uniformed military members, stopped to assist passengers after the crash.
The roadway was partially closed until around 3 p.m. while crews responded and the scene was cleared. Authorities are investigating whether weather conditions contributed to the rollover, and the cause of the crash has not been confirmed.
