Butler, PA (January 18, 2026) – A pedestrian was seriously injured Friday afternoon in a reported hit-and-run crash at the intersection of East Brady Street and North Monroe Street in Butler City. The incident occurred around 2:02 p.m. on January 17 and is under active investigation by local authorities.
According to emergency radio traffic, Butler EMS Unit 99-2 was flagged down by a witness who reported a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle, which then fled the scene. Firefighters, police, and supervisory EMS units were immediately requested to assist with the scene.
Due to the severity of the injuries, air medical transport was initiated. While LifeFlight was unavailable due to weather conditions, Stat MedEvac 3 confirmed availability and was dispatched to the Butler Memorial Hospital (BMH) helipad.
At approximately 2:15 p.m., EMS transported the critically injured pedestrian to the helipad, and Stat 3 lifted off shortly thereafter. By 2:54 p.m., the patient had arrived at the UPMC Presbyterian Hospital helipad in Pittsburgh for advanced trauma care.
The suspect vehicle involved in the hit-and-run has not yet been identified, and police continue to investigate the circumstances of the collision. Witness accounts and nearby surveillance footage are being reviewed.
