What Happens When a Wrong-Way Driver Causes a Fatal Crash in Missouri?
Wrong-way driving crashes are among the most deadly types of accidents on Missouri roads. When a vehicle travels against the flow of traffic, other drivers have almost no time to react, and the resulting head-on impact can be catastrophic. These crashes tend to occur mostly at night or during periods of low visibility, though they can happen at any time of day.
In Missouri, crashes involving a fatality trigger a formal investigation that goes beyond a standard accident report. Factors like the driver’s condition, vehicle history, and road markings are all examined as part of that process. When a law enforcement vehicle is also involved, the review may include additional layers of documentation to account for the circumstances of both drivers and the nature of the patrol at the time.
