Central Islip, NY (March 15, 2026) – An impaired driver crashed a luxury SUV into a home early on Sunday morning in Central Islip, leaving significant damage to the residence, according to authorities.
Officers with the Suffolk County Police Department responded to the crash shortly after 2 a.m. near Birchgrove Drive and Nostrand Avenue in Central Islip, New York. Authorities said 30-year-old Estefany DeJesus was driving a silver BMW SUV southbound on Birchgrove Drive when she reportedly lost control of the vehicle while traveling at a high rate of speed.
Investigators reported that the SUV jumped the curb and crashed directly into a home along Nostrand Avenue. The force of the collision caused extensive structural damage to the residence and left a large hole in the front of the building. Emergency crews responded to the scene to secure the area and assess the damage. The SUV was heavily damaged in the crash.
Authorities believe alcohol impairment may have been a factor in the incident. The investigation remains ongoing by the Suffolk County Police Department.
